Tumblr De Stijl.

The identity of a company, specially a web service, depends too much of its website layout. We don’t have to see logos or typography in order to indentify the company, sometimes just we need colors and position. That’s why I merge the website layout with the artistic movement: De stijl.

These were the words written on a laminated paper owned by a woman who offers massage services for a living.

Mama, Nice, Ate and I were in Divisoria earlier this evening to get a massage. I was one of the many customers of Manang (since I really don’t intend to type her name here, i’ll just call her Manang instead). Since Manang couldn’t hear, I had no choice but to just keep quiet for the whole duration of the service. While I was just sitting down there, observing the people and the things around me, I remembered a life lesson. This lesson is common and I realized this a lot of times already. This is something I remember when some people are in misery yet others don’t even care. Life goes on. The world will never stop for you. Sad but true; that’s just how it goes. But is it something to be despaired? No. Take for example Manang. Yes, she is deaf. It’s hard for her to communicate to others. But, did she give up? Again, no. She didn’t. She looked for her spot and continued to live. She made the most of what she has.

We may not be deaf but we all experience our own “deafness”. Instead of being so miserable of what we don’t have, why not be like Manang who offers to the world her ability? Look for your own spot and show the world what you’ve got because only then would the world pause (take note: pause, not stop) for you.
